There is a really engaging poem that Lee Stratford introduced me to that would be perfect for this unit: 'For Heidi with blue hair' by Fleur Adcock which is about a teenager who gets sent home from school for dying her hair blue. I'll have a look and see if I can find it. In one of the books using student writing in B8 there is a poem about a girl moving into a house where her mother has just started living with a bloke. It is written by a teenager and really conveys her sense of isolation and not belonging.
