At the e-Learning committee meeting this week, we discussed how we can teach ICT literacy at junior levels, and how we can promote cross-curricular learning. Sally Spittle recommended
The Visual Literacy White Paper which deals with some of these issues. We also got copies of the Interface magazine, "supporting the use of ICT in learning". It has some interesting articles about what other schools are doing with ICT, and some great resources.

Professional development courses

On 23 June 09, I attended a course called "Discipline with Dignity" by Bill Rogers. I found it a very useful day with lots of practical classroom management advice. Below are the notes I took on the course, covering topics such as general classroom management, setting up core routines, and behaviour consequences.

(This is where Libby, Ruth and Lloyd should probably publish their reports on the English conference. You know, sometime when they've got nothing to do and all day to do it in).
