1ENC: no entry requirement

*Core areas are as follows:
Reading = Unseen texts, Short texts essay, extended/film essay
Writing = Formal writing, short texts essay, extended/film essay
Speaking = speech


Year 12

2ENA: 17 credits from Level 1, including 3 Achieved or higher in at least three English external Achievement Standards from Level 1
2ENB: 12 credits from Level 1, including 2 Achieved or higher in English Achievement Standards

Year 13

Scholarship (if it runs): 20 English credits from Level 2, all at Excellence or Merit
3ENA: 18 English credits (not ESOL/Communications English) from Level 2 - 9 must be Excellence or Merit, must get ‘Achieved’ or higher in at least TWO of the external Achievement Standards
3ENB: 15 English credits (not ESOL/Communications English) from Level 2.
3ENC: 4 English credits (not ESOL/Communications English) from Level 2 AND at least 8 literacy credits at Level 1
